Battle of the Barges     On the final day of Boston's Year 2000 Celebration, a competition was held between two of the biggest fireworks companies in business today, Atlas PyroVision Productions and Fireworks by Grucci.     The two battled away over Boston Harbor for 40 minutes, illuminating the sky for miles around and creating an unforgettable backdrop for the Sail 2000 Tall Ships Exhibition visiting the city.     A select group of area leaders joined the mayor of Boston in judging the show. Armed with a dockside seat and a MERIDIA keypad, the panel rated each display in the four-round competition.     Meridia provided both the scoring system and screen displays to collect and present the scores to the television viewing audience at home.     And in case you're wondering, Fireworks by Grucci was the winner of the close competition, with a final score of 36.60 to 35.01!
